It's so easy, you'll never buy custard powder again.
Recipe Creator: Jennifer Walsh

I’ve been needing a few more ideas for the kids’ lunchboxes, something a little different from the usual fruit, crackers and baked treats, and then it occurred to me: custard.
It’s such a simple sweet treat, but one I know the girls will enjoy. Packing a little jar in their lunchbox feels like special treat, with an extra bonus of being so easily whipped up.
For me, there's nothing more comforting than knowing knowing exactly what’s gone into it, rather than reaching for a store-bought custard filled with ingredients I wouldn’t necessarily understand.
That’s really what I’m trying to do more of lately: not take every treat away, but learn how to make the things we already enjoy from scratch at home. Custard seemed like the perfect one to add to the list.
A little homemade sweetness tucked into their lunchbox, and hopefully an empty jar coming home at the end of the day.

If you do give this recipe a try, I’d love to hear how you went. Please feel welcome to leave a comment below and share your thoughts, it’s always lovely hearing from those of you cooking along with me.
I do hope you enjoy
Happy cooking,
Jennifer Walsh xoxo
