Use your favourite silicon mould for fun shapes...
Recipe Creator: Jennifer Walsh
Today I pulled out one of my silicone moulds and made these sweet little Owl-Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookies, a simple from-scratch bake that turned into another little cooking lesson for me.
I originally thought chocolate chips would be perfect, but while working the dough into the owl mould, I quickly discovered that they interrupted the shape and detail of the silicone mould. After taking the cookies out from the oven and tasting them, I decided to alter a few ingredients, and use chocolate shavings rather than chocolate chips in the future.
I just know chocolate shavings will work perfectly, allowing the little owl details to show through, while still giving us those lovely pockets of chocolate.

I hope you enjoy making these little cookies as much as we did. Choose your favourite silicone mould, have a little fun with the shapes, and don’t worry if they’re not perfectly formed — homemade rarely is, and I think that’s part of the charm.
If you give this recipe a try, I’d love to hear how you went. Leave me a comment below and let me know what shape you chose, or if you made any little changes of your own. We can continue learning from one another, one recipe at a time.
Happy baking,
Jennifer Walsh xoxo
